An evening of community, music & drumming

Cost: £10

An evening of community & connection

This evening is created around something very simple: a desire to create an event where anyone feels welcome to come along, have a chat a drink and feel part of something. At the core of all humans is the our desire to connect and feel be in community. Join us to sit in circle, bang a drum or shake a rattle, sing, chant and have a laugh. There will also be hot drinks, good company, some chat and meditation.

All music and instruments will be provided and if you have your own, feel welcome to bring yours along. The format of the evening, themes and music will evolve on the night to fit the group. You will feel very safe and there's no need to sing if you don't want to (just bang the drum)!

No experience, skills or a good voice necessary, just a willingness to join in! This event is open to anyone over the age of 16. Come with a friend, parent or colleague and enjoy a mini retreat based in community and music.

Connect through sound and rhythmn

Humans have gathered to drum and sing together for tens of thousands of years. Long before modern language, religion, or medicine, rhythm and voice were how communities regulated emotion, strengthened social bonds, and restored a sense of safety and belonging.

When we drum and sing together, our nervous systems naturally begin to synchronise. Breathing slows, heart rhythms align, and the constant mental chatter of everyday life softens. This isn’t about performance or musical ability, it’s about participation. The simple, repetitive rhythms give the brain something steady to rest into, while shared sound creates a powerful sense of connection and presence.

In a modern Western world that often prioritises productivity, individuality, and silence around emotion, communal drumming and singing offer a rare opportunity to reconnect with our bodies and with each other. Research shows that shared rhythm can reduce stress hormones, increase feelings of trust, and support emotional regulation.

You don’t need to “do it right.” You just need to show up.
When humans drum and sing together, we remember something ancient and deeply human: we are not meant to regulate life alone.
