Stillness in Winter *FREE* community walk with meditation & cacao
Cost: £0.00
A chance to slow down, and connect with the season
Join me for a gentle morning winter walk where we pause for meditation and to connect with nature. We will end with a sacred cacao circle to connect and honour winter’s call inward.
The end of the year can't be all Christmas parties, theatre trips and taking care of families, you also need to make time to rest, and respond to the call of nature which asks us to slow down this time of year!
This is a free community event, held by Chiropractor and self-empowerment coach Naomi Mills from Life & Light Chiropractic in Penicuik. All of our work centres around teaching you how to create calmness and ease in your nervous system so you can lead a more vibrant, healthy life. This morning is a gift to the community, a way to bring you back into your body in a gentle, friendly way.
We will start our walk from the Flotterstone carpark at 9am, and take a gentle stroll through nature as we slow down and connect with the season. We will pause for a beautiful meditation designed to help you embrace a sense of stillness and to collect the deep nourishment we need for the months ahead.
After more walking and connection, we will end with a ceremonial Cacao circle, using Cacao Naomi has just brought back from her month in Peru! You are welcome to then head off, or stay in the space, connecting with others and to ask Naomi any questions.
Tickets are free, however we ask that you register yourself and friends so we know how many drinks to prepare. This event is designed to help you unwind, connect and relax so we ask you leave dogs and children at home, however teens, best friends, parents and work colleagues are all great people to bring along!
We will meet at the Flotterstone carpark from 8.30am, leaving on the walk at 9am prompt. Please bare in mind there is a £2.10 parking charge for 2 hours, or £5 if you wish to be with us longer. This money goes towards the up-keep of the national park and it out-with our control, however buses and other nearby free parking spots are available.
We will walk whatever the weather! The intention is for a bright, crisp morning, however please come prepared with layers, waterproofs, hat & gloves, and water. Walking boots are ideal, but trainers are fine too (rain permitting)! You may also wish to bring a journal for notes during or after our walk.
The walk sets off at 9am, Naomi will be present from 8.30am to welcome you.
The walk is gentle and slow, however parts are up hill, so please bare this in mind and let us know if you have any mobility concerns. Our walk will last approximately 1 hour 15min including meditation time, ending near the Flotterstone at 10.15am for Cacao.
We will then relax and chat, and Naomi will be delighted to meet you and answer any questions, before we officially leave at 11.15am.
You are welcome to join for the just the walk, or stay as long as you wish.
